The Role
As a leading social housing landlord, providing a high quality and cost-effective maintenance service is paramount, ensuring our tenants remain happy in their homes. That’s why we’re seeking a Quantity Surveyor, to help ensure we can continue providing a first-class repairs service whilst ensuring value for money.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage and oversee delivery of Midland Heart’s contracted repairs, void and special project works, using your keen attention to detail, knowledge and experience to ensure a cost-effective approach. Your role is key in overseeing the supply chain of materials for works to be carried out and ensuring contracted services are completed work to a high standard.
This is a central role in the Repairs and Maintenance function where you will regularly communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a commercially efficient approach to service delivery. You will work closely with the Operations Managers and Heads of Service to review budgets and expenditure robustly and in line with Midland Heart’s financial controls.
Our ideal candidate? Your CV and covering letter will highlight the following:
- A relevant HNC and demonstratable commercial experience and knowledge of Quantity Surveying or Management Accounting.
- Experience with construction or maintenance works.
- Experience of managing and procuring for high-value contracts, with a working knowledge of relevant contract management and procurement legislation.
- You will be proficient in the use of NHF Rates and Contracts and how to use them to achieve value for money and best practise commercially.
- Demonstrable experience of working with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure strict financial controls and value for money are adhered to within service delivery.
