The Role

We’re hiring a Scheduler / Planner to join our growing In-house Maintenance Team based from our Central Birmingham, Bath Row office, where we are well connected to public transport links, with plenty of parking available in the local area too!

Please note, this is a post to cover Maternity Leave for a period of 9 Months, due to start in October / November 2024.

You’ll join our team of Planners responsible for managing the schedules of our Multi-skilled Trade Operatives who service 34,000 homes across the Midlands. You’ll work at pace to schedule domestic repairs appointments between our tenants and our Trade Operatives. Great customer service will always be at the forefront of your mind as you’ll be liaising directly with tenants and Operatives to deliver a ‘Right first time’ service; collaborating effectively with colleagues to resolve any repairs issues and re-schedule appointments as needed.

You’ll also monitor performance against service key performance indicators and targets – you’ll be encouraged to identify new ways of working, offering a great opportunity to the successful candidate to maximise the In-house Maintenance Team’s productivity and ultimately provide a better repairs service to our Tenants.

One of our Planners who joined the team earlier this year shares their experience so far - “Since joining the planning team in January, it has allowed me to take ownership over a varied workload, I have gained priceless experience in forecasting and planning and has allowed me to build on my knowledge of responsive repairs. I love finding creative solutions to challenging problems and have vastly increased my transferable skillset.”

Our ideal candidate? We're looking for candidates who pride themselves on delivering a customer centric service, with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a fast-paced operational team
  • Previous experience of scheduling or diary managing for a workforce of Operatives
  • Experience of using various IT packages including Excel to review and extract data, with the ability to learn new systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting demands with ease

In return, we offer:

  • A competitive salary that is reviewed annually to make sure you’re paid the wage you deserve.
  • Matched pension contributions starting at 4%, up to a maximum of 8%.
  • Health care benefits such as Medicash and life Assurance, 3 x basic salary if you’re in the pension plan or 1 x basic salary if you’re not.
  • No one likes standing still, so we invest in our people - we offer you the opportunity to develop your skills through professional coaching, development programmes and professional qualifications, should you wish to pursue one.
  • Access to a range of household discounts, from mobile phone contracts, gym memberships to holidays and eyecare vouchers!
