The Role

We’re committed to investing in our homes which leads us to introduce a new role to our Property Investment team. Joining us as our Portfolio Manager, you’ll have a demanding, yet highly rewarding role in ensuring that our portfolio of 35,000 homes is financially sustainable and remains desirable to current and potential customers.

Leading a team of Portfolio Management Officers, you’ll drive the delivery of a strategic optimisation programme of asset investment and divestment, in-line with our new corporate plan (2025-30). Working within a data-driven organisation, you’ll use business intelligence to develop stock option appraisals; ensuring that timely, accurate and informed investment and divestment decisions can be made. You’ll play a key role in optimising our stock performance; implementing divestment strategies to reduce losses and simplify our asset portfolio, whilst determining how best to deliver a programme of targeted investment to improve the quality of communal and environmental conditions.

Our ideal candidate? 

  • You’ll hold a suitable Building Construction qualification (e.g. CIOB, RICS) and / or have significant experience of planning/delivering data-driven property optimisation programmes.
  • You’ll have significant experience of property disposals, options appraisals and financial appraisals, with an understanding of the conveyancing process.
  • You’ll have experience of analysing data/information and writing clear, robust reports.
  • You’ll have experience of leading, motivating and developing a team.
  • Importantly, you’ll also have a high degree of personal drive which matches our ambitious corporate strategy, with the capability to deliver results to tight timeframes and under pressure.

We’re an organisation that works flexibly; in this role, you can expect to work from a Midland Heart site 3 days a week (inclusive of time spent undertaking appraisals across the Midland Heart geography) and 2 days working from home, based on business needs.
