To deliver this exciting piece of work, we’re hiring a Senior Product Designer on a Fixed-term Contract basis for 24 months.

If you’re looking for a Product Designer role in an organisation that has a strong social purpose, in a team that values innovation and utilises modern development practices, then look no further!

Joining our highly valued Software Development team, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing digital products that are informed by the customer/tenant journey – the sector in which we operate is complex and fast-paced, which means our digital solutions need to be innovative and adaptable to match the pace of change, as well as ensuring a consistently brilliant user experience.

As the Product Designer, you'll design end-to-end experiences for our colleagues and tenants, utilising your UI and UX skills, and be an ambassador who ensures all design efforts support a cohesive brand narrative across all products and platforms we develop. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you’ll lead conceptual web and app design, co-develop apps and constantly seek feedback to continuously improve our products. We don’t like to stand still, so you’ll be expected to really drive the continuous improvement of user-centric design practices to improve the efficiency and innovation of solution development that ensure we remain competitive.

This is a brand-new role offering you a truly unique opportunity to build great software that works for the customer!

Our ideal candidate? We’re seeking an individual who takes a user-centric approach to design and can troubleshoot complex issues, whilst bringing colleagues on the journey with them. You’ll also demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • You’ll hold a degree in a computer-related subject, professional qualifications in web and mobile development or comparable experience.
  • You’ll have proven technical experience of delivering UI/UX project work.
  • You’ll have experience of using design tools such as Sketch, Figma etc.
  • You’ll have experience of working with HTML5/CSS.
  • You’ll have knowledge and experience of applying web accessibility standards.
  • You’ll demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders including non-technical audiences.

As a Smart Working organisation, you can expect a balance of working from our Birmingham, Bath Row office and remotely from home – 3 days per week will be spent working from our Birmingham office, but this may vary depending on business need.
