The Role

To deliver this exciting piece of work, we’re hiring an Automation Testing Engineer on a Fixed-term Contract basis for 24 months.

In this role, you’ll join our highly valued Software Development team, where you’ll take ownership of the full automation testing for the new platform and support the automation tests for the existing web and business systems that serve all areas of our business! Working closely with the Application Development and Project teams, you’ll build and implement robust automated test scripts from scratch for user interface, unit, API and accessibility, quickly evaluating outcomes to determine appropriate course of action for testing. As a brand-new role, you’ll have the opportunity to truly influence the face of testing by supporting the design of automation testing frameworks that ensure efficient defect detection.

We don’t like to stand still, so you’ll be expected to really drive the continuous improvement of testing practices to improve the efficiency and innovation of solution development that ensure we remain competitive.

Our ideal candidate? We’re seeking an inquisitive, diligent, and methodical individual who is motivated to take our testing capabilities to the next level! You’ll also demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • You’ll hold a degree in a computer-related subject, professional qualifications in web and mobile development or comparable experience.
  • You’ll have a proven background in automation testing, including the testing of web, mobile and integrated solutions.
  • You’ll have experience of working with C#, Javascript and RESTful API integrated solutions.
  • You’ll have experience of creating test scenarios, test cases and test scripts.
  • You’ll demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders including non-technical audiences.

As a Smart Working organisation, you can expect a balance of working from our Birmingham, Bath Row office and remotely from home – 3 days per week will be spent working from our Birmingham office, but this may vary depending on business need.
