The Role

We’ve got an exciting opportunity for an Independent Living Officer (fixed-term contract until June 2023) to join our team based at our Oasis House Independent Living Scheme – a 39 apartment Independent Living Scheme designed to enable customers aged 18 and over and facing homelessness to move into sustained independent tenancies.

You’ll work as part of a friendly and highly professional team with responsibility for providing the very best housing-related support to customers; working directly with and signposting them to third-party agencies who can support them to develop the skills they’ll need to successfully maintain independent living, sustain a tenancy effectively and make sound decisions in relation to education and employment. You’ll develop and put in place independent living plans for our customers, supporting them to engage in meaningful activities and equipping them with necessary skills to take forward into independent living.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable experience of providing housing related support to customers in order to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Knowledge of the welfare benefits system and issues relating to homelessness.
  • Passion, drive, and enthusiasm for delivering quality services to vulnerable people.
  • The ability to work with others in a fair and assertive manner, using your excellent communication skills, with a solution focussed outlook.
