The Role

We’ve a lot of love for our Software Engineers – what with them being key to ensuring we have the software solutions needed to best serve our customers and enable our colleagues to achieve our ambitious corporate goals!

Joining our highly valued team, you’ll step into a challenging and rewarding end-to-end role; designing, developing, delivering, supporting and maintaining our web and mobile software solutions across our sector-leading organisation. You’ll have the opportunity to work with colleagues across our organisation to define requirements, update on progress and deliver quality pragmatic solutions that meet organisational needs. Working closely with our Lead Software Engineer, you’ll also contribute to the definition and implementation of development and quality standards, ensuring all work is delivered in accordance with those standards.

We’re a flexible organisation that focusses on outcomes, meaning that you’ll have the opportunity to work from home up to 4 days per week.

Our ideal candidate? A degree qualified software engineer with significant experience of developing and delivering software that provides real solutions to business needs. Broad technical experience with a good knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, C#.NET, VB.NET and SQL are all of interest to us. Any experience of working with low-code development platforms (such as Outsystems) would be desirable but not essential. Importantly for a people focussed organisation, the solutions you develop must always have the end user in mind; so we’re looking for someone with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, who can really get to the bottom of the end-user’s needs.

Who are Midland Heart? We’re a large and ambitious housing organisation providing more people an affordable place to call home. We welcome people from every walk of life, at every stage of their career. We expect a lot from our people but in return you can be assured of a great place to work, where you’ll be well rewarded and where great people are able to succeed. Whether you want to build your career with us, or use your experience to move on, we’re here to develop your potential.
