The Role

Due to a recent internal promotion, we’re seeking a proactive individual to join our Housing Management team as a Scheme Services Officer.  This is a fixed term / secondment role for 6 months offering you the opportunity to take on the estate management of our Bismillah Building.

Based in the heart of Birmingham City Centre, the Bismillah Building is made up of 116 apartments across 5 floors, providing accommodation to a diverse group of customers. You’ll ensure the scheme remains and continues to be, a place where people want to live, by being a visible presence and the first point of contact for all customers and contractors on-site.

You’ll provide a full front of house service by ensuring all callers are residents or authorised visitors, undertaking building inspections, escalating emergency repair requests and dealing with tenancy related queries from customers. The safety of our customers and visitors is paramount so you’ll also be expected to monitor CCTV and undertake regular security checks of the building, surrounding grounds and car park area, recording and taking any action as required.

Our ideal candidate? You’ll be a confident individual with a positive attitude who takes pride in delivering a great service to all customers, with the ability to remain solution focused in challenging situations. You’ll have good IT skills with experience of using a range of Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook) and in-house systems. Importantly, we’re looking for you to have an awareness of what is important when it comes to Health & Safety, Building Safety and Fire Safety.

The work pattern for this role is 39 hours on a 6 on 3 off shift pattern, including weekends, 1pm-10pm or 1pm-9pm. From time to time you may be required to work other shifts including mornings and nights to cover absence, so flexibility is a must!
