The Role

Are you able to interact with a variety of people and deliver great customer service, whilst thinking on your feet? If yes, apply now to join us as a Retirement Living Officer at our brand new Bluebell Court Retirement Living Service in the picturesque city of Lichfield. This is a part time role working 14 hours a week with flexibility on which days!

You’ll be the face of Midland Heart responsible for the day-to-day running of the scheme; housing adults aged over 50, including those with health conditions requiring level access accommodation, to live independent lives.

You’ll assist our residents by offering housing management services including preventing or resolving housing debt and assistance in fulfilling tenancy conditions. Ensuring that you understand our customers’ needs is really important in this role, being empathetic and interacting with them positively. Being able to help solve problems and enhance our customers wellbeing is integral, as well as ensuring the schemes are financially viable.

You’ll also undertake compliance checks in relation to Fire Risk and Health & Safety, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard and you’ll organise repairs for communal areas and coordinating Contractors on site. You’ll ensure that our customers are consulted about services and works where applicable.

You’ll have a strong customer focussed approach, with experience of managing budgets and financial understanding. Being able to adapt to changing priorities and work to tight deadlines is key to this role, by remaining organised and resilient under pressure. Working with others and being able to communicate effectively is a must, being able to understand the needs of customers and applying your great problem-solving skills.
