The Role

We’ve got an exciting opportunity for an Independent Living Officer role to join our Young People Service, supporting young people to move towards independent living. You’ll be based at The Foyer, Birmingham with some time spent at Muirhead House, Edgbaston. This is a full time permanent role working to a rota, including weekends and Bank Holidays – shift lengths vary but are between the hours of 7am and 9pm.

You’ll work as part of a friendly and highly professional team with the responsibility for providing the very best housing-related support to a significant number of young people aged 16-25, who are facing homelessness.

You’ll support our customers by working with them to develop the skills they’ll need to successfully maintain independent living, sustain a tenancy effectively and make sound decisions in relation to education and employment. You’ll develop and put in place independent living plans for our customers, supporting them to engage in meaningful activities and equipping them with necessary skills to take forward into independent living.
