The Role

Are you passionate about cooking great quality and nutritious meals? We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Cook to join our Terryspring Court Retirement Living PLUS Scheme in Redditch, for people aged 55 and over. This is a part time role working 18 hours per week, that would suit someone looking for flexibility- you’ll work days on a two week rota, including alternate weekends.

You’ll work in our busy onsite restaurant, preparing good home cooked meals for our residents, typically serving 20+ meals per day; as well as afternoon tea and hot sandwiches. You'll plan fortnightly menus that offer great quality and delicious meals, that also meet our residents cultural and dietary needs. You’ll also be competent at managing stock and budgets, including stock taking, placing orders and receiving deliveries, ensuring all activities comply with food safety standards.

Our Ideal Candidate? We are looking for people who:

  • Have experience of working in a catering service
  • Have a Food Safety Level 2 qualification (if you don’t have this, we will train you on this if you’re successful)
  • Are confident in dealing with budgets and stock taking
  • Are confident in using IT systems (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Are highly motivated to develop self and others for consistent quality service delivery.
