The Role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Scheme Assistant to join our St Crispin Retirement Living PLUS Village for over 55s, in Duston, Northampton -  St Crispins is a thriving Retirement Village where our customers live independently with support from Midland Heart on hand if needed. This is a part time role working 30 hours per week on a rota over 5 days, including weekends.

In this varied and active role, you’ll provide general support across the scheme - from reception duties and supporting sales of apartments on the scheme, to assisting during meal times and housekeeping of communal areas.

There are a range of facilities on-site for our customers to enjoy including a Restaurant, Bar and Coffee Shop – you can expect to get involved during meal times by taking orders, serving meals, handling petty cash and cleaning down, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained at all times.

You’ll interact with a variety of different people including customers living at St Crispin Village and their friends and family, other members of staff and contractors carrying out maintenance and repairs across the scheme – so excellent communication skills are a must!

Our Ideal Candidate? We are looking for individuals with:

  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Minimum of Food Safety Level 2 qualification or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment
  • Basic health and safety training, and knowledge of using domestic cleaning equipment
  • The ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently, and communicate in a pleasant manner with a diverse range of people confidently is vital in this role.
