The Role

Are you passionate about cooking great quality and nutritious meals? We are looking for two enthusiastic and passionate Cooks to join our School Court Retirement Living PLUS scheme in Hednesford, for people aged 55 and over.

You’ll prepare good home cooked meals for our residents, working under the guidance of the Head Cook, as well as using your own initiative. You'll plan fortnightly menus that offer great quality and delicious meals, that also meet our residents cultural and dietary needs. You’ll also be competent at managing stock and budgets, including stock taking, placing orders and receiving deliveries, ensuring all activities comply with food safety standards.

Both roles are part time, working 24 hours per week on a two week rota, including alternative weekends.

Our Ideal Candidate? We are looking for people who:

  • Have experience of working in a catering service
  • Have a Food Safety Level 2 qualification (if you don’t have this, we will train you on this if you’re successful)
  • Are confident in dealing with budgets and stock taking
  • Are confident in using IT systems (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Are highly motivated to develop self and others for consistent quality service delivery.
