The Role

Are you a procurement professional who enjoys working with people and driving innovative procurement solutions? Come and join Midland Heart! We're looking for someone personable, passionate and creative to join our team as our Procurement Manager and be part of our exciting transformation journey into making our procurement service truly excellent.  Your role will be commercially focussed, ensuring contracts are fit for purpose, demonstrate value for money and achieve our corporate strategy of Making What Matters Brilliant.

You will be partnering with business areas to offer expert advice, guidance and support in order to deliver the sourcing plan, which includes a range of key, strategically important projects across our organsiation. You'll develop and implement procurement strategies and build strong working relationships across across Midland Heart to ensure they receive a brilliant service. You’ll be part of a supportive and collaborative team, working together in a flexible and agile way to deliver positive procurement services and solutiions to a sector leading organsiation. 

This role involves Smart Working, which is about delivering a great service from wherever you are, without the need to unnecessarily travel to an office. You’ll focus on delivering a more efficient and effective service to your clients, and the internal client will somewhat drive the needs.

Our ideal candidate? We're looking a confident individual who can develop strong collaborative internal and external relationships through business partnering, delivering service to a high standard and focussing on strategic procurement needs. You’ll be an ambitious and driven individual who keeps on top of industry and sector changes, monitoring trends across categories of spend and risks in the supply chain. You’ll demonstrate excellent analytical skills and a strong eye for detail.

Our ideal Procurement Manager will also have:

  • MCIPS or CIPS qualification Level 5 or 6, or Business Management qualification with strong evidence of procurement knowledge
  • Experience of working within a Public Sector environment
  • Ability to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commercially focussed with the ability to continuously improve service offerings
  • Knowledge of e-tendering/sourcing portals
