The Role

We are looking for a committed Housing Options Officer to join our busy Housing Operations team, based at High Street South in Northamptonshire, with the focus to drive customers to make informed decisions about their housing needs.

Reporting to the Homeless Housing Advise Manager, you’ll be providing comprehensive advice and assistance to customers enabling them to access housing, as art of the Homeless Contract between Midland Heart and North Northants Council (formally known as East Northants Council). You’ll be assisting and verifying new housing applications, preparing adverts from properties and shortlists in line with the housing allocation schemes.

Our ideal candidate? You’ll demonstrate a positive approach and knowledge of housing options including access to private sector accommodation, specialist housing and low-cost home ownership. You’ll understand and be able to practically apply your knowledge of housing legislation and allocations policies, understanding the barriers to accessing housing. You’ll have proven experience of communicating effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be able to effectively prioritise and balance a high workload, using an organised and methodical approach, with the confidence to work on your own initiative and maintain a fair and high quality customer service.
