The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Surveyor to join our In-house Maintenance team and take responsibility for ensuring the safety and welfare of our customers, with particular focus on disrepair and fire prevention works.

With regards to disrepair, you’ll act as our expert witness - undertaking surveys and inspections of disrepair, writing up findings in Scott Schedules, preparing court compliant technical reports and legal statements, as well as provide critiquing reports provided by external surveyors. Putting our customer at the heart of service, you’ll ensure that all legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements for maintaining safe, warm and dry properties (Fitness for Habitation, etc.) are met.

Your role will also see you take supervisory responsibility for BM Trada Q-Mark fire door installations, repairs and maintenance across our portfolio of homes, ensuring that all fire prevention works are auditable in line with BM Trada Q regulations.

Our ideal candidate? You’ll have Chartered Membership (or be working towards) RICS or CIOB. You should also hold a recognised building/M&E or supervisory site management qualification, or have equivalent technical level of expertise demonstrated through significant work experience. We’ll support and expect you to obtain BM Trada Q-Mark supervisory competence within 12 months of employment.

You’ll come with a wealth of experience in inspecting properties and applying appropriate quality standards, building regulations and planning requirements, specifically related to disrepair and defects (including Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenants Act, Section 82 of the Environmental Protection Act and the Homes (Fitness For Human Habitation) Act), HHSRS as well as FRA obligations.
