We’ve got an exciting opportunity for an Independent Living Officer role to join our team at our Oasis House service, based in Northampton. This is a highly rewarding role where you’ll have a real impact into peoples lives, supporting them to make positive decisions.

Oasis House provides temporary accommodation to individuals with complex needs. Our aim is to support our residents, to access suitable accommodation, primary health care services, education, and employment among other services. The individuals in our service require support in the areas which come with their complex needs, such as substance abuse, mental health, anti-social behaviours and offending. 

You’ll work as part of a friendly and highly professional team with responsibility for providing the very best housing-related support to vulnerable adults. Working with them and overcoming challenges to develop the skills they’ll need to successfully maintain independent living, sustain a tenancy effectively and make sound decisions in relation to education and employment, whilst working in partnership with various stakeholders. You’ll develop and put in place independent living plans for our customers, supporting them to engage in meaningful activities and equipping them with necessary skills to take forward into independent living.

Our ideal candidate? It goes without saying that you’ll be a people person with the passion, drive and enthusiasm for delivering quality services to vulnerable people. You’ll have knowledge of the welfare benefits system and issues relating to homelessness, with demonstrable experience of providing housing related support to customers with achieving effective outcomes. Ideally you’ll have experience working within drug and alcohol services. You’ll have a desire to help others and to see them succeed, and be capable of pulling out all the stops to make that happen. You’ll be able to work with others in a fair and assertive manner, using your excellent communication skills, with a solution focussed outlook to overcome challenges and work in partnership with others.

You will work to a rota that includes shifts into the evening and at weekends.
