The Role

Midland Heart is a charitable registered provider of Social Housing, headquartered in Birmingham with operations throughout the Midlands. We are first and foremost a business with a strong social purpose. Our mission is simple, we deliver homes and services that enable our customers to live independently.

We know that a skilled and diverse Board is critical to our success and as we head into year three of our corporate plan, we are looking to recruit a new board member to join the Board in spring 2021. The role of a Board member is to provide stewardship of the business beyond their technical areas of expertise. All Board members are also members of Board committees relevant to their skills and experience.

Our business is one where anyone with the capability, aptitude and behaviours to do so, can succeed, regardless of their background. Our Board is no different; we are proud of our diversity and seek to reflect the geographies across which we operate. We know that diverse Boards make better decisions.

If you are an experienced leader, with contemporary experience of property and asset management gained within a large consumer facing business, we’d like to hear from you. Already operating at Board level, you will have business acumen along with the ability to contribute to the full corporate agenda. Naturally you will be adept at reviewing financial and operational performance, isolating areas for discussion and challenge.

Application is by CV (maximum 3 pages), with a short cover letter which clearly demonstrates how you meet the person specification. Closing date for receipt of applications is 5pm on 22 February 2021.
