The Role

Are you a construction professional with strong experience and / or knowledge understanding of construction site practices and post-completion defects and aftercare? If so we’re seeking a Construction Quality & Aftercare Manager who’s as ambitious as our plan to build around 3,000 quality homes for truly affordable and social rent across the Midlands in the next five years and beyond.

Reporting to our Head of Construction & Quality and managing a small team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that our homes are built to a high standard – with responsibilities including overseeing externally procured Clerk of Works (COW) service and undertaking site visits to active construction projects to achieve value for money and a high level of quality control. During the handover phase, you’ll work closely with our Assets team to ensure that all necessary health and safety files are in order and passed across on completion. Excellent aftercare is key to our success. You’ll therefore also maintain and manage an effective post contract defects process - liaising with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve a brilliant level of satisfaction amongst customers living in their brand new homes.

Our ideal candidate? You’ll be an experienced construction professional who holds, or is studying towards, membership to a relevant professional body (e.g. CIOB, RICS, CABE).  You’ll evidence excellent understanding of post-completion defects and aftercare, construction site practices, construction contract law and building regulations – with the ability to professionally and pragmatically apply this understanding to ensure that developments achieve value for money and meet our high standards. Importantly, you’ll have the ability to lead and drive the performance of a small, highly professional team.
