We have an exciting opportunity for a senior Finance professional to join Midland Heart as our Director of Commercial Finance. Leading our Finance Business Partner, Finance Operations and Procurement teams, this role is key to maintaining our strong financial position needed to deliver the goals of our “Making What Matters Brilliant” corporate plan and beyond.  

You’ll be a highly experienced Finance professional, with a solid background in management accounting and a real appreciation of the necessity for a profit-for-purpose organisation to be just as commercial as any other business.

Leading and championing our Finance Business Partners, you’ll drive them to deliver a service that provides robust management accounting, budgeting and advisory services that the organisation views as invaluable when making commercial decisions. Similarly you’ll ensure that our Finance Operations function is providing a high-quality transactional service and utilising financial systems that are fit-for-purpose and best serve the finance function and wider organsation.  You’ll also be responsible for the leadership of our highly professional Procurement team whom, alongside our finance funtion ensure that our organisaiton exercises strong financial control and obtains the best value for money from suppliers.

Our ideal candidate? You’ll be a senior qualified Accountant with a proven track-record of leading teams to deliver management accounting, financial planning and analysis and budgeting services in a complex commercial environment. We want you to evidence the positive commercial impact that your teams, through your leadership and support, have had on organisations – highlighting the influence that you’ve have had on business decision making and the opportunities you’ve successfully identified to reduce costs and improve profitability. We’re also interested to hear about your finance systems knowledge and your experience is implementing new systems. All importantly, you’ll be a highly effective communicator with the ability to work with Finance colleagues and stakeholders across our organisation to enable the delivery of our commercial ambitions.
