The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior HR professional to join Midland Heart as Director of HR Operations. With responsibility for our full generalist HR Operations remit, including business partnering, transactional processing, payroll, reward & benefits, this role is key to our delivering the People Focused goals of our “Making What Matters Brilliant” corporate plan.

You’ll be an experienced and credible HR professional who truly connects with our purpose – with the ability to identify clear lines of sight between our mission and how HR Operations support our people to deliver brilliant landlord services.

Leading and developing highly professional and close-knit teams, you’ll be the driving force behind a strategy that delivers a value adding HR Business Partner service, a payroll function that’s robust and reliable, as well as a reward and benefit offer that allows us to remain competitive and offer benefits that recognise that all colleagues aren’t the same. You’ll join us during a period of exciting and significant change, as we deliver our new strategy. You and your team will play a key part in enabling this transition; implementing new ways of working on the back of a new HRIS and continually improving HR processes and interventions to ensure we get the basics right and do what we say we will.

Our ideal candidate? You’ll be a highly experienced HR generalist with proven experience of delivering a truly value adding HR service. Knowledge of the sector isn’t as important to us as common sense, pragmatism and resilience. You’ll be a credible communicator and influencer, with the ability to work with HR colleagues and collaborate with our stakeholders across the organisation to enable the delivery of our strategic ambitions. It goes without saying that you’ll have the track record of leading teams, projects, change and managing budgets needed to make a success of this role.

What’s in it for you? As well as the opportunity to join a sector leading Housing Association and lead a highly valued team, you’ll benefit from our CIPD award winning reward package. We’re a flexible employer, focussed on outputs. Based at our Bath Row office in the centre of Birmingham, this role is offered on a permanent basis with a competitive salary, plus a car allowance. Alongside a generous leave entitlement, you will have access to PHI, generous pension arrangements, and a range of voluntary and salary sacrifice benefits.
