The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lettings Officer to join our Housing Operations department. We own 33,000 quality homes for social and affordable across the region, and one of our keys to success is ensuring that these homes are lived in and loved for the maximum time possible, by achieving re-let times that are amongst the best in the housing sector.

As a Lettings Officer, you could play a key part in achieving this ambitious aim by:

Coordinating and administering the process for re-letting of empty properties so that homes are empty for the shortest period possible.

Allocating properties in line with Midland Heart standards, policies and procedures; ensuring support needs are identified to help sustain tenancies and working with Asset Management to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Minimising void loss by working with maintenance to ensure customers move in as soon as the property is ready to let, in accordance with the void standard.

This role is a fixed term contract for 9 months and our ideal candidate is a dynamic candidate with previous experience in lettings / housing, who possesses the ability to effectively communicate with a range of internal and external customers, both individually and collectively. We set ourselves tight targets for re-let times and our tenants expect a prompt and efficient service, so a track record of delivering a right first time service and working to deadlines is essential.

Who are Midland Heart? We are a large and ambitious housing organisation providing more people an affordable place to call home.
