The Role

We’re seeking a Rent Payment Officer to join our team on a 12 month fixed-term contract. As part of a people focussed organisation, you’ll not only work to maximise the income of our leading housing association, but also practically support our customers to access relevant benefits and effectively manage their money to agree affordable rent payment arrangements.

You’ll deliver a proactive and customer focused service, ensuring that rent and service charges are recovered in a timely and efficient manner. You’ll have a highly rewarding and varied role which will see you not only collecting income, but also visiting customers in their home to provide rent related support and advice, representing our organisation in Country Court possession proceedings conducting abandonment checks, as well as conducting viewings and signing up new tenancies.

Our ideal candidate? You’ll have strong experience of income collection and/or providing rent and benefits related advice within a housing association, local authority or similar industry - including conducting evictions and attendance at County Court hearings. A people focussed approach is an absolute must and you’ll relish opportunities to provide support and advice which, as much as possible, enables customers to maintain their tenancy – no matter how challenging these conversations and situations may be.

Due to the nature of this role, applicants should hold a full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
