The Role

Health & Safety – to us it’s more than a box ticking exercise. It’s part of our People Strategy and integral in safeguarding our position as a safe and compliant, sector leading employer and provider of services. We’re inviting health & safety professionals who share this belief to apply for our Health & Safety Advisor role and further their career within an organisation that invests in talent.

Working closely with our Group Health & Safety Assurance Manager, you’ll play a key role in the hands-on implementation of our H&S Strategy; ensuring our compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation, guidance and best practice. With responsibilities including undertaking audits and inspections in a variety of housing areas, producing H&S performance data and analysis and assisting in/leading on the investigation of accidents this is a great opportunity to practically apply your H&S knowledge and develop your experience.

Our ideal candidate? Although we value previous experience, more important to us is a demonstrable energy and drive to proactively nurture a positive health and safety culture within our organisation - underpinned by sound technical knowledge of H&S legislation and best practice, audit and inspection processes and reporting requirements, as well as H&S management systems and investigation techniques. Our ideal candidate will therefore hold a NEBOSH Certificate or relevant safety management and/or enforcement degree, or be nearing completion of a formal H&S qualification. Importantly, we’re seeking an individual with the excellent communication skills required to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to coach and enable colleagues and partners to meet their health and safety responsibilities.

Who are Midland Heart? We’re a large and ambitious housing organisation providing more people an affordable place to call home. We welcome people from every walk of life, at every stage of their career. We expect a lot from our people but in return you can be assured of a great place to work, where you will be well rewarded and where great people are able to succeed. Whether you want to build your career with us, or use your experience to move on, we’re here to develop your potential.

Interested? To apply, please register on our candidate portal and submit a comprehensive CV setting out your career history with a cover letter of no more than two pages, clearly explaining how you meet the requirements of this role and demonstrating your career achievements.

Applications close at midnight on 25th February 2019.

Recruitment Agencies please note that we do not accept speculative CVs and should one be submitted, we will assume the candidate is our own.
