The Role

Do you have what it takes organise a large event for over 1000 people from a sector leading organisation? An event that will be talked about well into the future; an event that mirrors the energy, diversity and dynamicity of our colleagues? If so we’re recruiting an Events Manager to join us on a 12 month fixed-term basis and take responsibility for the delivery of our 2019 staff conference, as well as a number of smaller staff events scheduled throughout the year.

You’ll work closely with a range of internal stakeholders, including our Executive Board, to not only plan content but also advise on how best to bring content to life in ways that capture the imagination of colleagues. Working alongside an external agency you’ll ensure the conference runs smoothly and that colleagues have an experience that will fuel discussion and engagement long after the event closes.  Your role however, will not end there! Following the successful completion of the staff conference, you’ll devise a forward plan that ensures all following events build on the discussions, decisions and content of the day.

Who are Midland Heart? We’re a large and ambitious housing organisation providing more people an affordable place to call home. We welcome people from every walk of life, at every stage of their career. We expect a lot from our people but in return you can be assured of a great place to work, where you will be well rewarded and where great people are able to succeed. Whether you want to build your career with us, or use your experience to move on, we’re here to develop your potential.

Our ideal candidate? We’re seeking a creative individual with a strong understanding of the latest trends in internal communications and excellent experience of managing sizeable events. You’ll have a record of budget management and contractual management of external suppliers to ensure events meet time and budget constraints. A talent for stakeholder management will be key. You’ll therefore demonstrate the ability to advice and influence senior internal stakeholders, whilst communicating effectively and co-operatively with colleagues and partners to ensure the smooth planning and running of exciting and engaging events.
