We’re seeking an experienced Procurement professional capable of business partnering with our Assets Team to support all asset related procurement activities of the Midlands’ leading housing association.

We’re in a unique position of responsibility in that our Properties and Assets are much more than just buildings – they’re homes on which people rely and in which lives play out from childhood to retirement. Our Category Manager: Property and Assets will play an important role in securing the ongoing affordability and quality of our 33,000 homes by ensuring that the highest quality goods, works and services are purchased on behalf of the tenants at the best prices.

You’ll be primarily tasked with proactively business partnering with the Property & Assets Team to refresh associated contract renewals – providing the driving force behind the procurement of all Asset & Property related contracts, ensuring value for money and compliance with relevant regulation. Excitingly, you will ensure that specification development captures the very latest market innovations by delivering specifically targeted market engagement exercises. This value adding role will also be a strategic interface with the Assets Team to ensure that both a strategic and technical input is provided to procurement of all goods, services and works.

Our ideal candidate? This is a career enhancing opportunity for an experienced CIPS qualified procurement professional, with a background of procurement in line with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This will be coupled with a proven experience of working within an Assets or Estates portfolio, through which you’ll have developed technical knowledge of relevant component specifications. Importantly, you’ll be genuinely excited by the opportunity to enhance Midland Heart’s profile presence as a buyer and engaging key stakeholders in future procurement planning.

What’s on offer? Based at our Bath Row office in the centre of Birmingham, this role is offered on a permanent basis with a salary of circa £45,000 per annum.
