The Role

We own 33,000 quality homes for social and affordable rent across the Midlands, and one of our keys to success is ensuring that these homes are lived in and loved for the maximum time possible, by achieving re-let times that are amongst the best in the housing sector. As our new Lettings Officer, you could play a key part in achieving this ambitious aim by:

  • Coordinating and administering the process for re-letting of empty properties so that homes are empty for the shortest period possible.
  • Allocating properties in line with Midland Heart standards, policies and procedures; ensuring support needs are identified to help sustain tenancies and working with Asset Management to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Minimising void loss by working with maintenance to ensure customers move in as soon as the property is ready to let, in accordance with the void standard.

Our ideal candidate? This is a dynamic role that requires an equally dynamic candidate with previous experience in lettings / housing, who possesses the ability to effective communicate with a range of internal and external customers, both individually and collectively. We set ourselves tight targets for re-let times and our tenants expect a prompt and efficient service, so a track record of delivering a right first time service and working to deadlines is essential.

Who are Midland Heart? We’re a large and ambitious housing organisation providing more people an affordable place to call home. We welcome people from every walk of life, at every stage of their career. We expect a lot from our people but in return you can be assured of a great place to work, where you will be well rewarded and where great people are able to succeed. Whether you want to build your career with us, or use your experience to move on, we’re here to develop your potential.
