Seeking a challenging yet fulfilling new role? If so apply now for our Night Support Worker post at “The Foyer” young people services scheme, based in central Birmingham.

The service supports young people to access suitable accommodation, primary health care services, training, education, employment and volunteering opportunities, as well as other services as needed by each young person. The service is staffed 24/7 and accommodates young people both male and female, 16-25 years of age, who are homeless and with additional support needs.

As a Night Support Worker you will work as part of a friendly and highly professional team with responsitbility for providing the very best housing-related support to vulnerable young people – working with them to develop the skills they’ll need to maintain independent living, enabling them to move on into permanent accommodation and sustain a tenancy effectively. You’ll undertake risk and needs assessments, as well as support planning in relation to all customers; actively reviewing and monitoring these with them to ensure they meet their support requirements. You will also provide a visible presence at reception and throughout the scheme whilst ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of all our customers, visitors and contractors.

The successful candidate will be expected to work from 8.30pm until 7.30am on a rolling rota basis.

You’ll be able to demonstrate empathy, compassion and understanding, whilst enabling our young people to maximise their independence. You’ll have some experience of working with young people in a similar role before, with knowledge and skills that you can bring to our team. We’re looking for someone who wants to work with young people, someone who wants to see them succeed, and is capable of pulling out all the stops to make that happen.
