The Role

As part of our continuous drive to achieve better value for money, we’re seeking a Valuation Surveyor to support our Assets Investment Manager in delivering a financial and budgetary control service, ensuring that all work completed by Midland Heart and its contractors are within budget and within contract terms.

Key to achieving value for money, the successful candidate will undertake continuous cost monitoring services to identify trends and changes to budget and proactively suggesting and agreeing performance improvement measures.

Who are Midland Heart? We’re a large and ambitious housing organisation providing more people with an affordable place to call home. We are improving our core landlord services, which includes ensuring that our asset management strategy continues to provide excellent value for money across our 33,000 unit mixed property portfolio. We’ll achieve this through hiring the best people who share our vision and values.

Our ideal candidate? You should hold a HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in a construction, quantity surveying or financial discipline. You should have good technical experience including tendering and estimating small works contracts up to £1M, JCT Building Contracts and processing electronic payments and controls to external organisations. Joining a people focussed organisation, it goes without saying that you’ll be a team player with excellent communication skills and a can do attitude.

What do you get in return? Midland Heart is passionate about providing you with a great place to work alongside our CIPD award winning reward initiative. We invest in our employees by providing learning and development opportunities, alongside a competitive salary and generous annual leave entitlement. We value diversity; whoever you are, you will be valued and respected in your role.

Interested? To apply, please register on our candidate portal and submit a comprehensive CV alongside a cover letter of no more than two pages, clearly explaining how you meet the requirements of this role.

Closing date for receipt of completed applications is 2nd November 2018. Please be advised that we may close applications before this date, should the need arise.

Recruitment Agencies please note that we do not accept speculative CVs and should one be submitted, we will assume the candidate is our own.
