The Role

Do you have a passion for reducing homelessness and want to make a difference? We’re looking for an experienced Housing Professional to join our supportive, dynamic and knowledgeable team on a fixed term basis for 12 months.

The role of the senior homeless officer requires you to manage a small team delivering the homeless prevention activities on behalf of East Northants Council, where you will work under the guidance of the Homeless Reduction Act to prevent homelessness within the ENC area. You will also be responsible for allocating properties and providing nominations for other housing providers within the ENC area via the Homes Direct choice based lettings scheme.

Our ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of homeless legislation, the benefits system and landlord and tenant law. Connecting with our vision, purpose and values, you must possess excellent communication skills, with a passion and enthusiasm for delivering a quality service to our stakeholders.

The ability to lead your team to success is essential. Engaging the team and inspiring them to deliver a first-class service will be key to the role.
