The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Lettings Officer to join our Housing Operations department on a fixed term basis for 12 months. We own 33,000 quality homes for social and affordable rent across the region, and one of our keys to success is ensuring that these homes are lived in and loved for the maximum time possible, by achieving re-let times that are amongst the best in the housing sector.

Reporting to the Voids & Letting Manager this role will play a key part in achieving this ambitious aim by:

Coordinating and administering the process for re-letting of empty properties so that homes are empty for the shortest period possible.
Allocating properties in line with Midland Heart standards, policies and procedures; ensuring support needs are identified to help sustain tenancies and working with Asset Management to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Minimising void loss by working with maintenance to ensure customers move in as soon as the property is ready to let, in accordance with the void standard.

This is a dynamic role that requires an equally dynamic candidate, who possesses the ability to effective communicate with a range of internal and external customers, both individually and collectively. We set ourselves tight targets for re-let times and our tenants expect a prompt and efficient service, so a track record of ensuring that work gets done correctly first time and working to deadlines is essential.

What can we offer you? We are a flexible employer passionate about providing you with a great place to work. As well as a competitive salary and generous leave entitlement, you’ll benefit from our award winning reward initiative, including a range of voluntary and salary sacrifice benefits and generous pension arrangements.

We are a large and ambitious housing organisation providing more people an affordable place to call home. We welcome people from every walk of life, at every stage of their career. Whether you want to build your career with us, or use your experience to move on, we’re here to develop your potential.

To apply please register on our candidate portal and submit a detailed CV setting out your career history with a cover letter of no more than 2 pages which clearly explains how you think you meet the requirements of this role and which demonstrates your career achievements.

Closing date for receipt of completed applications is 9am on Tuesday 28 September 2018
