The Role

Are you an accountant with a head for numbers and the ability to account for the fixed assets of a leading housing association that owns 33,000 homes and growing? If so we’re seeking an Assistant Assets Accountant to take responsibility for:

  • Ensuring month end fixed assets balance sheets are prepared in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • The preparation of year end statutory accounts in relation to fixed asset disclosures.
  • Ensuring that all fixed asset transactions relating to additions, depreciation and disposals are recorded accurately and in line with statutory guidelines.
  • Working as part of the Financial Accounts Team to provide support for projects being undertaken.

As well as being a qualified or part-qualified accountant, our ideal candidate will have a demonstrable knowledge of preparing complex reconciliations within a large organisation, as well as a strong working knowledge of Excel (including  Vlookups, sumif, pivot tables and nested If statements). The ability to think on your feet is essential as our stock and complexity increases; candidates should therefore have a problem solving mentality and the ability to understand the causes of and provide solutions to issues arising in relations to fixed assets.
