The Role

Our social housing development team is growing and we’re seeking an experienced Project Manager (Business Development) to play a key role in building 2,350 new homes for social and affordable rent, between 2017 and 2022. With knowledge and experience of the pre-contract stage of housing development, you will take a proactive approach to securing new business – seeking, pursuing and securing new land and housing opportunities to meet the targets set out within our Housing Delivery Strategy.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Appraising potential schemes and submit offers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Negotiating with vendors, developers, contractors and other stakeholders to secure property and land purchases as well as the procurement of building contracts
  • Liaising with client departments to ensure that project details are understood and support is gained prior to seeking any approvals
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient handover of projects to our Development Construction Team

Given the ambitious nature of this role, we require a target focused New Business development professional who enjoys working in a very fast-paced, challenging but ultimately rewarding organisation. You should ideally possess a relevant housing or construction qualification, related to the housing association sector, or have equivalent experience of working in a development or property related role.

What do you get in return? Midland Heart is passionate about providing you with a great place to work alongside our CIPD award winning reward initiative. We invest in our employees by providing learning and development opportunities, alongside a competitive salary and generous annual leave entitlement. We value diversity; whoever you are, you will be valued and respected in your role.
