The Role

We have great opportunities for Lettings Officer's to join our Housing Operations department one on a permanent basis and another 12 month fixed term contract.

We own 33,000 quality homes for social and affordable rent across the region, and one of our keys to success is ensuring that these homes are lived in and loved for the maximum time possible, by achieving re-let times that are amongst the best in the housing sector.

Reporting to the Voids & Letting Manager this role will play a key part in achieving this ambitious aim by:

  • Coordinating and administering the process for re-letting of empty properties so that homes are empty for the shortest period possible.
  • Allocating properties in line with Midland Heart standards, policies and procedures; ensuring support needs are identified to help sustain tenancies and working with Asset Management to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Minimising void loss by working with maintenance to ensure customers move in as soon as the property is ready to let, in accordance with the void standard.

Our mission? To be a leading housing organisation, delivering homes and services across the Midlands that enables people to live independently. We achieve this through hiring the best people who share our vision and values.

This is a dynamic role that requires an equally dynamic candidate, who possesses the ability to effective communicate with a range of internal and external customers, both individually and collectively. We set ourselves tight targets for re-let times and our tenants expect a prompt and efficient service, so a track record of ensuring that work gets done correctly first time and working to deadlines is essential.

What do you get in return? Midland Heart is passionate about providing you with a great place to work alongside our CIPD award winning reward initiative. We invest in our employees by providing learning and development opportunities, alongside a competitive salary and generous annual leave entitlement. We value diversity; whoever you are, you will be valued and respected in your role.
