The Role

Are you a Software Development Manager who relishes a new challenge and is capable of establishing and sustaining an environment for both Software and Business Intelligence development to exist and succeed in one of the UKs leading Housing Associations?

Reporting to the Director of IT, the Software Development Manager will:

  • Establish and lead a team of Software Engineers and Bi Developers to build, maintain and support web, mobile, BI, ETL & Integration solutions.
  • Managing the entire development process including testing, change management and release management.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of engineering practices to improve the efficiency of development in Midland Heart.
  • Promote and ensure the use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools whilst contributing to wider functional policies, standards and guidelines.

Our ideal candidate will have strong experience of standardising, implementing and driving software development lifecycle methodologies and ways of working, as well as qualifications including a Degree in computer science or related discipline, formal training in the software development lifecycle, as well as ITIL training. Technical experience is a must with candidates experience in either/ or JavaScript, CSS, html5, c#.net, vb.net or SQL, all being of interest to us.

You will also be an experienced manager, who is excellent at building and developing teams which are highly competent and can deliver a broad range of services, maximising the contribution of your team and others through effective leadership.
