The Role

Midland Heart has an exciting opportunity for a Right to Buy Team Leader to join our busy Home Options team, based at Bath Row in Birmingham. With their working knowledge and experience of Right to Buy process and legislation, this role will play a vital part in ensuring that those eligible tenants wishing to get a foot on the property ladder are fully supported to do so.

The position is initially on a 2 year fixed term contract, but may be made permanent depending on the Government's decision regarding the pilot and roll out of the VRTB.

Reporting to the Leasehold & Lettings Manager this role will be responsible for:

  • Managing, supporting and developing our Right to Buy and Right to Acquire team, continually reviewing the service provided by the team in order to provide the most cost effective and efficient service.
  • Ensuring a high quality service to tenants wishing to exercise their RTB or RTA, leading the process for all Right to Buy and post sales issues to ensure a consistent approach and ensuring Midland Heart fulfils its legal responsibilities.
  • Providing specialist advice on all Right to Buy and Right to Acquire issues and to co-ordinate Midland Heart’s policies and procedures pertaining to all aspects of RTB, RTA and service charges.

We’re seeking an individual who already possesses a working knowledge and direct experience of the Right to Buy and/or Preserved Right to Buy and/or the Right to Acquire and the relevant legislation. Our ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of the Voluntary Right to Buy and its implementation.

You should be able to lead a customer facing team which strives for excellence, meaning strong communications skills are absolutely essential; as is the ability to work proactively and use your own initiative to ensure you and your team provide the best customer service experience possible.
