The Role

We now have a fantastic permanent opportunities for a  Support Workers to join us at St Thomas House a Complex Needs Service in Coventry on a permanent basis.


Coventry Complex Needs Service provides support to men & women aged 18 upwards who experience a challenging and chaotic lifestyle which has led to them being serially excluded from other Services. Applicants must have housing-related support needs and are at risk of homelessness/losing independence and are willing to engage with the support service.

The accommodation comprises of 8 rooms in a share house. There is a communal lounge, kitchen, and dining room and laundry facilities on site. There are also 4 one bed self-contained flats on the site for customers with lower need. The maximum length of stay is 2 years. The service is staffed 24 hours and staff provide housing related support to enable customers to gain the skills required to move on to independent living. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible individual who is able to work on their own initiative. You will be able to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and have the unique ability to diffuse any given situation.

The working pattern is Monday- Sunday (rota basis) 

Night posts include domestic duties

The role will involve providing practical, emotional and cognitive support to help our customer achieve their goals, working closely with referring agents. You will undertake risk and needs assessments and support planning in relation to all customers and to actively review and monitor these with customers.

We are looking for people who:

  • Have experience of workingin a supported living/care setting with vulnerable customers
  • Can communicate well amd where necessary adapt your style to the needs of the customer
  • Have a passion and enthusiasm for delivering quality services to vulnerable people.
  • Are able to demonstrate empathy whilst enabling people to maximise their independence.
