The Role

Midland Heart is recruiting a Surveyor to be a single point of contact for all internal and external contractors in respect to repairs, void management, stock condition, quality and value for money across of our stock of 33,000 homes, as well as accommodation provided under our retirement / supported living schemes.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsive Repairs Delivery - Providing technical support to customers, staff and operatives to deliver an effective end to end repair service which is clean and efficient.
  • Voids / Empty Property Management - Project managing repairs to void properties to achieve the void standard including Decent Homes in line with the end to end void management process of Midland Heart.
  • Financial Control - Ensuring completed work is priced and approved within agreed, tight timescales and that all work is priced in strict accordance with the contractual price model.
  • Project Management - Delivering projects throughout our property portfolio that are consistently high in quality, programme, budget and quality control.

Our ideal candidate will be qualified to HND/Degree level or equivalent in a related discipline, as well as Health and Safety/CDM qualified or equivalent. We are looking for proven experience in developing effective solutions to resolve construction related defects and customer issues, alongside evidence of monitoring and controlling construction works including defect and repairs final inspections. As this role will be in regular contact with customers, contractors and colleagues across Midland Heart’s Operation Directorate, excellent communication skills are a must.
