The Role

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Legal Officer to join our Income Legal team, reporting to the Income Legal Manager.

The team, are primarily responsible for attending court hearings for rent possession claims as well as some gas injunction and trespass hearings. You will prepare legal documentation for court and assist in the initial stages of dispute resolution for disrepair cases.Maximising the company’s income collection and ensuring the best legal outcome for Midland Heart and its customers.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of attending court, ideally with regards to rent possession claims, have a sound knowledge of Housing Law and Civil Procedure Rules, and are able to both problem-solve and handle difficult situations.

You’ll have great people skills, with a passion and enthusiasm for delivering a quality service.  As well as being a people person, you will also be business focussed, flexible and have the ability to manage and prioritise a large and varied workload with completing priorities and deadlines.

 You will also play a key role in furthering the growth and success of the department.

The role is based in our Bath Row office but provides a service across all of Midland Heart’s geographical regions and so travel will be an essential part of the role.  As such, it is essential that you both drive and have access to a car.
